Who holds the title of Algologist and has the authority to practice pain treatment?

To become a pain treatment specialist, a physician must first complete medical school and then specialize in Anesthesiology, Physical Therapy, or Neurology. Subsequently, they take a sub-specialty exam and undergo a 2-year Advanced Specialization in Pain. If successful in the qualification exam at the end of this period, they earn the right to become a Pain Subspecialist (Algologist). With this diploma from the National Higher Education Council , they gain the right to practice pain treatment in Turkey.

These individuals have also proven their competencies in this field by passing the qualification exams of national and, in some cases, international pain associations, further establishing themselves as experts in the eyes of their peers.
