In the face-down position, injections of phenol are administered to nerves targeted from two separate levels, on the same side, starting from the side of the midline. Alternatively, lesions can be created on these nerves using radiofrequency waves.

This procedure is carried out in surgical conditions, monitoring all vital functions, with the patient under sedation and using an imaging scope for visualization.
