It is a block applied by entering through the midline of the coccyx (tailbone) while the patient is lying face down. (In coccyx pain, coccyx massage and/or trigger point injections into the surrounding muscles can also be performed.)

This procedure is carried out under operating room conditions, with all vital functions monitored, under sedation, and with imaging assistance using a scope device.
