Mild Opioids

Medications in this group are called mild opioids. They have lower potency compared to strong opioid analgesics and are used to treat mild or moderate pain. These opioids generally have less narcotic effect, resulting in fewer side effects. Examples include:

  • Codeine: An opioid with both cough suppressant and pain-relieving properties. It can be used alone or in combination with other medications as a pain reliever.
  • Tramadol: A synthetic analgesic with mild opioid effects. It is used to alleviate moderate pain and provide relief.
