Accurate diagnosis is the most crucial step in the success of treatment…
Trochanters bursitis is the inflammation of the bursa located over the bony prominence called the trochanter in the hip joint.
The bursa is a fluid-filled sac that reduces friction in the tissues surrounding the joint.
Trochanteric bursitis can result from factors such as repetitive movements, trauma, overuse, or infection. Its most common symptom is pain and limited movement on the outside of the hip (trochanter area) or in the thigh. The pain typically increases when pressure is applied to the hip or during movements that engage the muscles around the bursa, especially when climbing stairs, sitting or standing up, or lying on one side.
Initial treatment involves rest, activity modification, and medications to alleviate pain. If these measures are insufficient, injections into the bursa may be recommended.
