Facet Joint Syndrome (Athrosis)

Facet joints are small joints located on the back of a vertebra, facilitating the movement of the spine.

When the structure of these joints on the back of the spine deteriorates, it results in a condition known as facet syndrome.

Typically, facet syndrome manifests as lower back pain, limited mobility, muscle tension, and sometimes pain radiating from the hip to the back of the knee.

Treatment options include rest, anti-inflammatory pain relievers, and muscle relaxants. In cases where these measures are insufficient, facet blocks applied by algologists and/or Radiofrequency treatment on the facet joints may be considered.
