Back Pain

In general, back pain can result from various causes. The most common reasons for back pain include:

  • Musculoskeletal Issues: Conditions such as muscle spasms, strains, herniated discs, arthritis, and scoliosis can lead to back pain.
  • Muscle Weakness and Imbalance: Weakness or imbalance in the muscles of the back and abdomen can make it challenging to support the spine, causing back pain.
  • Trauma and Injuries:Traumatic events like falls, car accidents, or sports injuries can result in damage to the spine and cause back pain.
  • Postural Abnormalities:Prolonged sitting or standing, limping, improper sitting, or walking posture can exert extra pressure on the spine, leading to back pain.
  • Obesity:Being overweight can add extra stress to the spine, resulting in back pain.
  • Sedentary Lifestyle: Maintaining a lifestyle with prolonged sitting or lack of physical activity can lead to muscle weakness and back pain.
  • Stress and Psychological Factors: Psychological factors like stress, tension, and depression can intensify back pain or contribute to its chronicity.
  • Infections and Diseases: Spine infections, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and certain diseases can also cause back pain.
  • Cancer: Cancer patients often experience pain in the spine and surrounding nerves and soft tissues due to tumor involvement.
